Professional counseling education does not include classes on nutrition so most counseling professionals are unaware of the effect of nutrition on clients’ moods and how nutrition can affect the process of decision making. For persons suffering from anxiety and mood disorders and persons recovering from addictions, this information can be critical in the quality of their recovery and their life.

Common problems that people want help with include: communication issues, improving the quality of life, increasing spirituality, developing healthy anger, depression, trauma recovery, childhood abuse, nightmares, flashbacks, anxiety, grief/loss, strengthening personal values, setting boundaries, feeling out of control, wanting to control everything, being able to say no without feeling guilty, feeling unimportant, and relationship/attachment issues.
 

Addiction issues include: workaholism, too much time on computer or video games, substance abuse, gambling, sexual addiction, codependency, food issues, sugar, and growing up in a chaotic home.
