Rita enjoys working with adolescents and adults, couples and families, step-families and single parents. She is a gifted teacher of accessing personal power, developing healthy money emotions and healthy anger skills, relationship skills, stress reduction, and problem solving skills. She has received more than 300 hours of specialized training in trauma resolution. Rita uses many tools for teaching and healing, including energy, guided imagery, relaxation, TAT, EFT, Zpoint,  meditation, EMDR, Psychosynthesis, and personality assessment using the Myers-Brigs Type Inventory.

Rita is currently working at A Chance to Change where she works with individuals as well as facilitating groups and has developed expanded services for people with gambling issues or their family members. She
also teaches Group Counseling at Southern Nazarene University.

 

She has worked as a counselor for Sunbeam Family Services and for the Children's Recovery Center, a hospital for children and adolescents where she worked with adolescents in substance abuse treatment and mental health areas.  She previously taught as an Adjunct Professor at both Redlands Community College and Rose State College and her experience includes working as a teacher, camp director, financial manager, leader trainer, and resolver of complaints. Rita taught human relations for business and the understanding of personality type for improved relationships at both Francis Tuttle and at Moore-Norman Technology Centers and in a variety of business, organizational and church settings.
