About Rita
Rita enjoys working with adolescents and adults, couples and families, step-families and single parents. She is a gifted teacher of parenting and problem solving skills, anger management, stress reduction, relationship skills, money and credit management, and accessing personal power. She has received more than 300 hours of specialized training in trauma resolution. Rita uses many tools for teaching and healing, including energy, guided imagery, relaxation, meditation, bilateral brain stimulation (EMDR), and personality assessment using the Myers-Brigs Type Inventory.
Rita has worked as a counselor for Sunbeam Family Services. She previously taught as an Adjunct Professor at both Redlands Community College and Rose State College and her experience includes working as a teacher, camp director, financial manager, leader trainer, and resolver of complaints. Rita taught human relations for business and the understanding of personality type for improved relationships at both Francis Tuttle and at Moore-Norman Technology Centers and in a variety of business, organizational and church settings.
She is currently employed by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance abuse services as Intake Coordinator at Norman Adolescent Center. She sees a very limited number of private clients through Support People Incorporated.
